Well its a Britney Spears experience what did you expect? Quality acting? Not really. Its not a bad movie if you are thinking in a made for tv type of version. Its a really really bad chick flick but mind you they all really are the same. All in all its worth watching just to say you didSome shining moments, but mostly awful. - jmb84
I honestly tried to give this movie a fair chance, because I thought Britney might be getting a bad rap because she's...well...Britney. However, truth be known, her acting skills ARE deplorable. Poor Britney is outshined by every one of her costars, with the possible exceptions of Dan Akroyd and Kim Cattrall, appearing in the worst roles of their respective acting careers. And the idea that she even has a shot at studying music seriously (as one of her teachers suggests) is laughable...see Hilary Duff in "Raise Your Voice" for another example of this baffling trend in tween movies.
The true star of this movie is Taryn Manning, who plays the only character with some amount of depth; she easily transforms her character from a skanky, clingy, rough-around-the-edges trailer park girl into a victimized, loyal, ambitious friend of the highest caliber.
Zoe Saldana also has some good moments, although her character is lacking in both depth and common sense--we knew her fiance was up to no good long before she did--but the moment in which she realizes the true nature of his bad deeds is well played.
All in all, Crossroads is a pretty bad movie; so bad that it left me wishing to see more of the "Hi, I'm a Mac" guy's nerdy, sex-obsessed character...but at least it wasn't "Glitter".If it smells like cheese....then it probably is! - Leonie_M
This has to be as cheesy as movies come. Really now the only thing good I had to say about it was it helped to further my girl Zoe (whom played Kit in the movie) career, other then that it was just one big cheese fest. I can’t understand why famous people truly believe within themselves that because they can master one sector of the entertainment business means they can be just as successful in other sectors (perhaps they didn’t get the memo: NOT ALL ENTERTAINERS CAN BE MULTITASKERS!!) So stop trying to waste my time
