Very silly movie that somehow comes off as interesting and suspenseful. Well acted all around (in particular Vince in what is his best film to date).
John Travolta accepts his wife getting remarried to Vince Vaughan. Until one night his son runs to him claiming he witnessed step daddy commit a murder. Police of course are totally ineffective and wife is blind so it is up to daddy to save the day.
Some genuinely suspenseful moments in what could have been a laugher.Absolutely unreal, totally entertaining - Chucky
As movies of this genere go, this flick has enough action to keep it from being a total waste and John Travolta can portray anything. Here, he is an ex-husband who is doing his best to get along with his rebellious teenage son while coping with his wifes remariage to a highly successful tycoon. The future hgroom however is hiding his evil side and only the boy sees it at first. It goes on that the ex wife has not one ounce of bitchyness in her. She never denies "Bio Dad" access, never gives him a hard time, apparently doesn't skin him alive in the courts and is successful in her own right. Yet Travolta pulls it off, the guy is a giant.
