Gerry
"Visually Spectacular!" - People Magazine
From the groundbreaking director of Good Will Hunting and Finding Forrester, Gerry stars Academy Award winner Matt Damon (Best Original Screenplay, Good Will Hunting, 1997; The Bourne Identity, Ocean's Eleven) and Casey Affleck (Ocean's Eleven, Soul Survivors) in a suspenseful and highly provocative story of two men pushed to the limit! A pair of best friends (Affleck and Damon), who've nicknamed each other "Gerry," set out on a desert hike. But what begins as a simple daytime adventure turns into an intense life-and-death journey that will test the strength of human endurance and ultimately their friendship! Written by Damon, Affleck and Director Gus Van Sant, this uncommonly compelling and starkly visualized film is a must-see motion picture that has earned the overwhelming praise of critics nationwide!

A long and slow movie. Lots of scenery with little dialogue. Reminded me of an Iranian movie. I watched the whole thing in fast forward in about 10 minutes and I got the gist of the story. Not worth it. No wonder I had never heard of this movie full of big names!Worth a look! - Chris_Jones
This movies is worth a look if you can overlook 10 minute shots of people walking with no dialogue. It takes patience but you will find a rewarding movie underneath. The movie shot in Utah is gorgeous to look at and the ending is a stunner. Very poetic and different from the usual Hollywood movie. Watch it for a taste of something different.Love It Or Hate It, It's Visually Stunning - bwod
At 103 minutes, this movie could bore you to tears, or you could get so wrapped up in it, you might be moved to tears.
The acting is o.k. The dialogue is almost non-existent. But the cinematography will simply blow you away. Filmed on location in desert settings, from Argentina to the United States, the most powerful performance is that of Mother Nature, as she bears down on two unsuspecting novices, out for an evening's hike in a wilderness area of Death Valley.
If you appreciate scenes of pure nature, unobstructed by humankind, then this film might be for you. Nominated for a number of awards, and winner of one, for best cinematography, it will grab your attention (or you'll turn it off, scratching your head.) Personally, I liked it, so I'll recommend it marginally, with one thumb up.
