Simone
A star is...created.
His leading lady just walked off the set. Now to save his career, Viktor Taransky (Academy Award winner Al Pacino) must find the ideal actress to replace her. Enter S1MONE. She's beautiful, she's talented-in fact she's perfect in every way except one. She's not real. It's lights, camera, and lots of distractions as Vicktor struggles to keep the truth behind Hollywood's latest sensation away from the Paparazzi's prying eyes. But, with S1MONE launching a singing career and the whole world watching, that's going to be virtually impossible. From the creator of The Truman Show comes this "highly intelligent and highly entertaining" (David Sheehan, KCVS-TV) comedy about creating a star.

The computerized model is real - fairweather
Rachel Roberts from Vancouver, BC, Canada plays Simone, the computerized woman who is made famous in this movie and she does a great job of it. We laughed out loud at the antics of her "creator" (Al Pacino) trying to keep from the public the fact she is a digitized person and not real. When he decides to "retire" her by making her say and do things to make her unpopular, the people STILL like her, frustrating him no end. So he decides she must die.. but then gets accused of her murder, so he must admit the fraud he has done. But.. no one believes him and he has deleted her forever, what now? Entertaining and worth watching, this film is marked as a comedy, but it also manages to highlight the growing impact of technology on how we perceive reality.Doesn't look real at all - imagination201
Except for the part at the end where Pacino's character must defend himself from murder accusations regarding his own computerized creation that everybody else believes is a real person, this movie is not all that good or funny. To people who are used to blue screen and cgi now, Simone doesn't look real enough to be able to fool the rest of the world the way she does in the movie, and Pacino's acting is not up to what we have come to expect of the man...
I would say that it is a curiosity to check out if it crosses your path, but otherwise, leave it on the shelf.
