Total Recall
Get ready for the ride of your life.
Arnold Schwarzenegger explodes out of the year 2084 A.D. with gut chrunching, white knuckle, non-stop action, as he smashes his way through a horrifyingly real fantasy world, complete with a gorgeous but deadly wife (Sharon Stone), and into a mind-bending, nightmarish reality of a Martian mining colony ruled over by a terrorizing dictator (Ronny Cox), who can alter reality to suit his whims. The red planet erupts with rebellious mutants, the fire of an alluring and mysterious woman (Rachel Ticotin) and a vicious and savage enemy. In this film, directed by Paul Verhoeven ("Robocop"), with special effects by Dream Quest (Academy Award for "The Abyss"), it's total war, total action, total Schwarzenegger... TOTAL RECALL.

Total Recall is definitely one of the best sci-fi action movies ever made and it still stands up wonderfully- I haven't seen it in probably 15 years, and it was just as awesome as I remember it. Brilliantly original story, really fun effects and just a damned good time. They really don't make them like this anymore (because all the make are bad remakes... and this one's on the list I'm horrified to say...) 6 stars.Fun, unlike anything else - eli_quincy
Total Recall is a shamelessly fun, inventive sci-fi pic with some great ideas and some tremendously silly ideas coexisting in a totally unique package. It's stupid and smart at the same time, but never less than entertaining. It provided a template for future Verhoeven efforts that couldn't achieve anywhere near the same success, so enjoy a singular film that isn't a classic by any means -- but is almost better for it.One of the best Schwarzie sci-fi for sure! - imagination201
When a movie leaves a lot of flashbacks in my mind long after watching it, that is a sure sign that it left a lasting impression on me.
And that is what this movie did. The plot point involving memory manipulation was awesome, and the final twist (just before the final confrontations) was just totally unexpected.
And, this movie has the added bonus of introducing us to a younger Sharon Stone, before she became a superstar herself. And she is excellent in her role of... I'm not saying :P
All in all, a terrific adventure in the future of Earth and on Mars, but also in one's mind :) Or is it? :)
Got to watch it to find out :)
