A band of soldiers is dispatched to war games deep in the woods . When they stumble across a rival team slaughtered in camp, they realize they're not alone. Something deadly is wating in the darkness: something not animal and not human. Holed up in an abandoned farmhouse, the soldiers start a bloody battle against the beasts. Dawn is only a few hours away but they may not live to see it.

Man was this movie fun! I expected it to be a bit campy, and of course it was, but it was even more fun than I expected and I can't really say just why- it was full of the usual cliches and dubious acting (I don't think even the British would be calmly making tea while stuck in a house surrounded by werewolves), but it didn't matter one bit in my enjoyment of this movie. I had a blast watching this and trying to understand the thick accents at times and the very strange sayings (you'll learn what 'this is bone' means eventually). I definitely recommend this one.Here we go again... - Jason1
I'm not sure why I love werewolf movies. Almost all of them are lackluster and sure to leave you feeling unsatisfied. But every once in a blue moon a movie like Dog Soldiers comes along and renews my faith.
Dog soldiers is low budget, high action, high sarcastic\black humor. perfect. The decisions these guys make leave you with the impression that they weren't cut out to make it in the military. How do I kill a werewolf? I know, I'll punch him to death.

Dog Soldiers. Cinematic masterpiece? Maybe not. It is sometimes a bit clichéd, you can tell it has a low budget and it is really quite the campy movie. However, I love Dog Soldiers, and that says a lot because I usually don’t like campy movies (hated Evil Dead 2).
Dog Soldiers is basically a werewolf survival story. I love werewolves, and love survival stories, but I have the misfortune of living in a world where great survival and werewolf movies are few and far between. Dog Soldiers delivers though. It is smart in that it realizes the budget is low and it doesn’t have the capacity for great looking CGI monsters. Instead it allows the werewolves to stay in the shadows, showing us only hints that they are there, in the shadows. Sometimes what you can’t see is the most terrifying of all.
This isn’t all horror movie however. Part of it is straight up dog vs man combat, with some awesome fights. In particular, I loved the battle in the end. There is one part where one of the soldiers is just throwing everything around him at the werewolf including pots and pans until they get into an ugly hand to hand battle. It’s just so bloody and intense and angry! I loved it.
