Mambo Italiano
A Spicy Comedy ... Italian Style!
Gino (Paul Sorvino) and Maria (Ginette Reno) emigrated from Italy to "the new world", a world they still haven't gotten used to... That world is shattered when their son decides to get a place of his own. They are relieved however, when his childhood buddy and family friend, decides to move in, after all Nino's an old family friend and a respectable cop. Their relief is short lived though as they find out that Nino and Angelo are more than mere roommates.
Mambo Italiano is hysterically funny and deeply moving. Adapted from the successful play of the same name, the movie explores the subtleties and complexities of this queintessential Italian family, straddling the cultures and traditions of the old and new worlds.

A fun, light comedy - DannyN16
This is a really really enjoyable comedy. Everything from the physical comedy to the dark wit was spot on. The performances were delightful in the sense that they were clearly parodies, but at the same time, still possessed enough human characteristics to be relatable. I will say that there was a bit of emotional gravity that I felt was lacking, though the few serious bits there were were fantastic. I also didn't get the psychiatrist thing (I won't spoil it for you), but it wasn't significant enough to make me less of a fan of this movie. It's a really enjoyable and very light comedy.Well Alright! - Shynn
First off it was nice to see a movie where the city of Montreal was actually the city of Montreal and not subbing for any other metropolitan city. To me this was pretty much on the mark, not being Italian but being part of the Montreal community at large this was close to the mark in a lot of cases. Well done, funny and all at the same time getting the point across. Well done.Funny - Would Recommend - Cory1
I watched this movie with my husband, and loved it.... There were some parts that were a bit slow, but i couldnt go more than 5 minutes without laughing. The content is gay, and shows the way it really can be for a gay teenager..... Highly recommended!
