When Josh (David Wenham, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers) and Cin (Susie Porter, Paradise Road) meet at a party, they are not initially attracted to each other. But when they share a taxi home, they decide to take advantage of an opportunity to have easy sex. Much to their surprise, their night of casual sex turns into something more than either of them expected, and as night turns to day and into night again, Josh and Cynthia realize they might have made a bigger mess of their lives than they could ever have imagined... their night of lust just might be the start of a beautiful relationship, and no matter how hard they both try to fight it and flee, fate keeps stepping in to bring them back together. When it comes time for Josh to leave, there is only one question left to answer: will they walk away or will they surrender?

Well, we don't find out in this movie, but there is a lot of sex and David Wenham is always nice to look at, clothed or naked (ow!! just drooled into the keyboard and got zapped!)
If you like David Wenham, you understand "artsy" movies, and just want to watch a movie where you don't have to think and just sit back and watch two people having sex -- this is the movie for you.
As for me --the over-thinker-- I couldn't figure out what drove the characters (well, aside from lust) and the twists and turns -- like when he "leaves" but then acts like he never did, and the ending (!) are confusing.
Bottom line: two people meet, fall in lust, have sex all over the place over a period of a few days, and have really bad communication -- to leave? to stay? ending up in different places !!
The "interview" style the movie is presented in is also a bit distracting, but hey, maybe it's just artsy. I don't "get" artsy.Better than Sex - ricepudding
Located in Australia, this movie tells the story about the meeting of a male wildlife photographer and a female fashion designer. By some mysterious magic of ‘chemistry’ the couple mutually decide that they must get between the sheets ...and fast!. This they do in her apartment. End of story.
We never quite learn what is ‘better than sex’. This reviewer opts for a good
fillet mignon and a glass of beer, but clearly there must be other things. One
supposes that Romantic Love, or a long happy relationship (eg. marriage) would
be better, but for instant gratification and release perhaps sex is the tonic.
I found it difficult to like the man. At one point he urinates into the toilet, then
goes to stroke the woman...without washing his hands. The woman reminds him,
‘you did not flush the toilet.’ Such omissions show a lack of true caring for a partner,
such omissions can break marriages apart. This makes me think that this liason is going
nowhere.
Both of these young people are clearly ‘searching’ for what is now called ‘a meaningful
relationship’. Perhaps the strength of this movie is the educational aspect...this is not
a good start for a meaningful relationship. It is merely a temporary liason, there is no
solid foundation. This is not to say that a good relationship cannot develope, but it is
an unnecessary hard start.
At one point the couple are sitting in the bath. The woman asks the man how many
sexual partners he has had. He thinks it would be between 40 and 50. The woman is
suprised, and at this point we wonder what is passing unsaid through the woman’s
mind. She replies that she thinks she has had 27 partners. This reminds me of young bunnie rabbits, they spend a fair amount of time copulating: perhaps humans are the
same.
Peggy K (AB) summed up the movie; ‘self involved dialogue by two rather shallow individuals.’ My thoughts exactly.

Another "man and woman meet and screw" movie. Don't let the title of this one fool you. If you are really looking for something better than sex, you should look elsewhere. But if you just like watching people do it, you may think this movie is great - because there is lots of doing it. There isn't much else though, aside from a spattering of self-involved dialogue by two rather shallow individuals. Ho hum.
