Storm of the Century
An Unspeakable Evil Has Arrived.
From Stephen King, the best-selling novelist of all time, comes the terrifying tale of a town besieged by evil. The inhabitants of a picturesque, sleepy little town on a small island off the coast of Maine find themselves completely cut off from the rest of the world when they are hit by the worst storm of the century.
As Snow steadily buries everything familiar, terror arrives in the form of an evil stranger. As streets disappear and an eerie darkness envelops the town, a series of bizarre murders creates a nightmare of fear. With no help coming from the outside world and no end to the storm in sight, the townspeople are forced to take drastic action before it's too late.

People are even hot or cold on Steven King books being turned into movies. And in the past they haven't always been successful.
In my opinion Storm of the Century is one of the best transitions from book to film. The plot is suspensfull and the viewer is left guessing until the very end what will happen to this quaint town.very well made - wwskaf
I watched the whole mini series in one sitting... I didn't find it too long, the story was captivating, the characters were as well.
I love the way Stephen King always includes some social moral in his story, and this one wasn't different.
(Although it creeps me out that every one of his stories rotates around a little boy... I'm not suggesting anything, i'm just pointing out what i see.)Loved the beginning and middle... - cathyottawa
...found the ending a little anti-climatic, but that's just my personal view.
This is Stephen King at his best. His strong suit has always been in creating memorable, well fleshed out characters, and this island town in Maine is full of them.
There's lots of chills and thrills, and Colm Feore is very creepy. This is more "shivers down your spine" stuff than straight up scary and graphic - but there is a bit of that too.
Watch it on a stormy night.
