True Lies - ABC99
Shattered Glass is a great procedural look at a exposure of a fraud. Since we know from the outset that the main character is a fraud we get to see his colluges uncover the lie. Haydon Christianson gives a rare good performance as the snaking, whimpy Glass, pathetically covering his tracks far past the point of believability.
Shattered Glass does expose an important truth. that this is actually not that hard for a reporter to do.Just an average movie... - cowellj
This film tells the true story of fraudulent Washington, D.C. journalist Stephen Glass (Christensen), who rose to meteoric heights as a young writer in his 20s, becoming a staff writer at "The New Republic" for three years (1995-1998), where 27 of his 41 published stories were either partially or completely made up. Looking for a short cut to fame, Glass concocted sources, quotes and even entire stories, but his deception did not go unnoticed forever, and eventually, his world came crumbling down...Shattered my Expections - Benson
This movie was much better than I thought it would be. It gives you a fascinating look into the inner workings of a magazine and how the journalists come up with their stories.
This movie also makes you think twice about believing everything that you read or hear in the media as fact. For that alone, I think it is well worth watching.
