All The Real Girls
Love is a puzzle. These are the pieces.
In a sleepy little mill town in North Carolina, Paul (Schneider) is the town Romeo. But when his best friend's sister returns home from boarding school, he finds himself falling for her innocent charm. In spite of her lack of experience and the violent protests of her brother, the two find themselves in a sweet, dreamy and all-consuming love. "One of the few films to honestly nail the awkwardness and ardor of young romance."

Nice try, but...(spoiler alert) - crazyboutmovies
At the end of watching this film, my wife made the comment that it is really difficult to make a good movie.
Indeed, I do believe that the makers of this movie tried hard to make this a "good" film. They succeeded in conveying the monotony, the lack of opportunities and choices in the small mill town, and the cinematography was quite beautiful and sensitive.
However, the story just didn't go anywhere for me. I didn't understand how the couple got together in the first place, and what it was that kept them apart (sorry, spoiler alert). In fact, it took a while just for the relationship of the characters to become a little clearer.
Perhaps a good editor can make this film move forward and more logically. All The Real Girls - Derekstar
I couldn't connect with this at all. The guy's dating his friend's sister, which causes drama, but then she *gasp* leaves town and hooks up with and outsider, which causes drama, and then she faux-dates the dude's friend, which causes even more drama, and then the guy won't instantly forgive her for all of the above, which causes the most drama of all. Fuck this. I enjoyed Snow Angels a lot, I had high hopes for All the Real Girls since it's widely considered Green's best. I was disappointed. All The Real Girls - bosoxx
Gordon Green's niche in cinema is as the has become the master of interesting cinematography of delapidated rural industrial sites. Great PR for the state of NC tourism brochures no doubt. And the lanquid pacing of his films that sometimes promotes narcolepsy in the viewer. To demonstrate he has been to film school he inserts "artsy" segments that are totally incongrous with the characters& plot. Also, in this film the so-called adult love story seems out of context with the male lead [Schneider] whose behaviour with women seems fixated at the 12 year old level[ i.e, "I am saving myself for you", also see his relationship with mom!].
The above may seem harsh-you can see what Green is attempting in his films-all I can say , viewer beware
