One Eyed Jacks
Academy Award Nominee
Brando plays a ruthless outlaw who has escaped from prison in this psychological western, set in Sonora, Mexico, 1880. Brando lives to settle the score with Karl Malden, his former partner in crime, who left him behind to be captured by the law. Great acting and wonderful photography makes this a must-see western that Brando, not only starred in, but also directed.

Great Western - ShawnConnery
Too bad this was the only film Brando directed; it was very well-directed, acted, and the story was excellent. I thought it was interesting how well the characters were developed for a western. Lots of twists, good music, and the scenery is definitely something great.Saw this as a kid - gregm
and loved it. Decades later I'm pleased to say it still holds up. Perhaps even better than I remember it.
It's a classic story of betrayal & revenge against a western backdrop. Characters are richly developed and underlying themes of sexual morays, hypocrisy & friendship being explored. One might argue that this film is the blueprint for the 'spaghetti western' genre that followed the same decade.
Great perfomances all round and one of Brando's best.
Brando's direction is a little uneven in spots but very impressive given it was his first and only shot at it. One can't help but think it would've been good to see him pursue it further. One Eyed Jacks - HapyJak
Awesome movie, one of the best Westerns I have ever seen. This is how movies should be made, with charcter development and other plot lines etc. Insted of relying on tons of action and special effects. With everything going on in the movie you still anticipate the eventual showdown between Brando & Malden. Must see.
