Bubba Ho-Tep
The King Of The Dead vs. The King Of Rock N' Roll.
Mud Creek, Texas is about to get all shook up. When mysterious deaths plague the Shady Rest retirement home, it's up to its most sequined senior citizen (Campbell) and a curmudgeon-in-chief (Davis) to defeat a 3,000 year-old Egyptian mummy with a penchant for sucking the souls from the barely living! Will this Bubba Ho-Tep make sure there's never another Elvis sighting? Or can the King show the world that he can still take care of business?

Bruce Campbell is the King - TheDuke
Bruce Campbell is the King, wither it is the king of slapstick, the king of B Movies or finally the King of Rock'n'Roll, Bruce Campbell proves it everytime that he is without a dout the king for a reason. I his trademake way Bruce brings the King to life, as only he can, and has him fight a butt shucking Mummie, who prays on the old and infirm of retirement homes.A hard movie to judge... - Calzephyr
Having seen Evil Dead, Bubba Ho-Tep isn't anything like Evil Dead, so I'm thinking this where some people might be disappointed. However, I really enjoyed Bruce Campbell's portrayal of Elvis - it was quite good as well as the age make up. Ossie Davis was also in fine shape as JFK. I would have to say this movie is more of a statement on old age and redemption than a mummy movie.Old people with regret - Cky15
As crazy and silly as the setup sounds, the film actually achieves depths that most "serious" movies can't even begin to touch. The film deals with what it's like to be an elderly person in this country when nobody cares about you. Elvis and Kennedy are both regretful about not being there for their children when they needed them. And a last chance for glory and leaving this world honorably is a recurring theme throughout the film (see Kemo Sabe's showdown with the mummy). All of these themes are handled with a deft hand, never hammering the point home, but intended to be taken seriously.
