Aliens (Alien 2)
This time it's war.
The only survivor of the Nostromo's deadly encounter with the alien, Ripley's escape pod floats in space for 57 years. After being rescued, Ripley's stunned when her story is met with disbelief. Then all communication is lost with the colonists who've settled on the alien planet. When the Company asks Ripley to accompany a team of high-tech Colonial Marines back to LV-426, she refuses. But she ultimately realizes that the only way to banish her fear is to confront it head on.

This rehash of the original film is overlong by half and has such ridiculous dialog that it's a wonder why Cameron has received such accolade.
Hard to believe that this hokum was his first major studio release.
Good thing he had The Terminator on his resume before this was released because I dont think he would have been given a Mulligan for this turkey.Decent sequel - meghanrose
James Cameron's sequel to Alien is compelling enough even if it departs from the original's terse, atmospheric tone, replacing it with a shoot-em action film in space. While the original Alien is concise, almost restrained, Aliens is definitely over the top in almost all aspects. Bigger guns. Bigger explosions. Bigger (and more numerous) fights. The extended version is long - unnecessarily so - and staying focused can be a challenge. However, the movie does build the mythos surrounding Ripley and the aliens well, and for this, the film is a success.just as brilliant as the original, in a different way - clauditorium
Witty, intense science fiction. The tension, cued by Sigourney Weaver’s face, is built in surgically precise steps. Ripples of unease start creeping in inconspicuously after the first half-hour, and it soon becomes unrelenting, almost unbearable. The film is skilfully balanced, with rousing action complementing the suspense. Outstanding music score and special effects. An overpowering, immensely enjoyable big-screen experience.
