Saw the trailer, got the movie - easyHwolf
My wife and I were watching some other movie and saw the trailer for this movie and we felt it looked good.
We were pleasantly surprised and not disappointed. Numerous reviews talk about a book, we have never heard of it or read it, so we cannot judge it against it.
The movie is fast-paced and the story really moves on. I did feel that there could have been more character development, but that would have made the movie longer.
Definitely could have been a series. Not bad, but not as good as the book - hilkayaker
As usual, hollywood stops short of doing an acurate book translation. I liked the movie, and luckily had seen it before I saw the book so it didn't destroy it as much for me as some others. But the story was SOOO different. Especially the Lady Claire, she had a funny part in the book. I loved Gerald Butler, but otherwise I agree the acting was a little lack-lustre. I would still recomend watching it, but it is not fantastic, just fun.Doesn't live up to expectations - chnoodle
I think that unfortunately I was expecting a little too much from this movie just because it was a phenomenal Michael Crichton book. While I completely loved Gerard Butler, his role was not enough to make up for Paul Walker's bland performance and some pretty lame dialogue. It wasn't a horrible movie but it didn't really leave you satisfied either.
