Ok, if you want to get the depressed feeling of helplessness in a drug infused, no hope ghetto, yes, this movie did have an impact, however, the story was loose, Samuel L. got a whole 5 minutes of screen time. There were times when I needed subtitles to understand what they were saying. Also, yes, there was violence, however, beyond what was required to send a message i.e. the girl's leg shaking on the court and the dog being shot which I completely didn't get. I'm sorry, I did not find this movie rivetting, nor did I enjoy itGreat movie - give this one a chance - Spook
This movie is one of those sleepers that not a lot of people have heard of, but there is a reason so many critics raved about it when it came out. It is a really well done movie.
If you are looking for a well acted drama with a good plot, give this one a chance - you won't be disappointed.
