Most will never truly appreciate a Genius when they see it! Pinocchio a classic, however Benigni's version is most unusual and creative, sadly the majority of those who see this movie will mistaken him for a madmen.
Roberto Benigni's work spans over 25 years both in his home Country of Itaily and only in recent years across the world with his groundbreaking directorial debut 'Life is Beautiful'. Co-starring his real life wife Nicoletta Braschi.
Benigni's best described as Whimsical, and an eccentric artist. His peculair choice in unusual character's proves he's fluant in being differnt and will never be typed cast. All the more reason to love him!Pinocchio on speed.. - Ghanie
Fantastic decor, beautiful costume, excellent story, very close to the original story by Collodi. So what is the problem? The rhythm and the dubbing! Roberto Benigni is so speedy that the actor dubbing him is unable to follow! The result is an impression of bad lypsinc! May be itwould have been better in Italian with english subtitle..but that option is not on the DVD..May be i should try with no sound and the subtitle for the hearing impared...
