Scary Movie 3
The comedy spoof series that knows no fear is at it again with its funniest installment yet: SCARY MOVIE 3. Taking shots at the latest crop of block-busters, SCARY MOVIE 3 irreverently roasts "The Ring," "Signs," "Matrix Reloaded," "Eight Mile," "The Others" and more, as well as pop culture trends such as "American Idol." The film brings director David Zucker back to the genre he helped create with the classics "Airplane!," "Naked Gun," "Naked Gun 2 1/2" and "Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult."

This movie is still good for a laugh but its starting to fade. Some parts were hilarious but a lot of it wasn't all that good. Its definately not the best of the 3 but its still fairly good. The deleted scenes on the DVD are fairly interesting to see, and one in particular is a pleasing they took it out cause that was just plain stupid. If you get this movie you must watch the deleted scenes since there fairly funny as well.Average Comedy Spoof - Scagneti
Scary Movie 3 is still considered part of the "Scary Movie" franchise, even if there aren't any Wayans in it. In fact, they aren't even part of the writing staff, but are given credit for two characters that they created for the original Scary Movie.
This is standard stuff, mocking Signs, The Matrix, The Ring, The Others, 8 Mile and more. While the commericals were all about Jenny McCarthy and Pam Anderson, they aren't in many scenes and have a minimal role in the movie. It's not bad viewing for a Saturday night.Scary Ho-Hum - simarddj
The Scary Movie franchise started with a Bang and I must say that I enjoyed the first movie quite a bit. I know that we are talking low brow humor, but it's the kind of humor where you can just let yourself become brain-dead and enjoy the slapstick and insanity. The 3rd installment is somewhat uneven and if you're new to the Scary Movie series, I would watch the First One instead, otherwise this one may disappoint you. There are a lot of funny moments in Scary Movie 3, but not fast paced enough as far as I'm concerned. The goal was to make fun of the latest genre movies and unfortunately a lot of sketches, because that's how I view this movie, are way too similar to the original movie they are spoofing thus you loose the punchline. As always Anna Faris is just hilarious with her expressions and the way she portrays the character as being serious in this complete mayhem. She has been consistent in the entire franchise. As for Charlie Sheen, he's always been great in keeping a straight face and again he is pulling it off here. Most of the cameos work and look like they had fun doing it. Now obviously you had to have seen the other movies to enjoy the spoof otherwise it may still look funny but you kind of miss the point. Having said that, if you didn't like some of these movies in the first place, and that applies to me, then the parody feels soooo long and you do want to press the FF button.
The disk does offer a nice list of little extras and the one that I really liked is the Delete Scenes where one shows you nearly 25 minutes of an alternate ending ... I won't tell you which ending I prefer, you be the judge.
