Funny, twisted Christmas story - thenewguy
Bad Santa is about two thieves who rob malls during the holidays. Their cover involves them posing as Santa and an elf. The film focuses on one Christmas season in which "Santa" encounters a little, slow-witted boy who takes him in and tries to take care of a drunk, swearing Santa.
The film is basically an anti-Christmas story in a lot of ways and uses gross, holiday-inappropriate humour. Santa swears at children, is constantly drunk, yells at people and tries to hump every young female he can find.
The film is funny for all the wrong reasons and relies mostly on dark humour with the occasional glimmer of character growth as Santa finds some caring in this world.
My only complaint with the movie is that it tends to over-use some material, especially shots of Thornton being drunk or Santa and his helper yelling at each other. Otherwise is a good film for those who would like a little less holiday cheer.pleasantly surprised - KoJa
Okay, so in the beginning of this movie I had the "err WTH" kind of moment, thinking 'oh no, what a bad idea it is to watch this' but after giving it some time this movie and Billy Bob's character and his interactions with the others start to grow on you.
The only reason I watch this was cause of the 'theme' 'lauren graham' 'john ritter', but it does end up turning out to be a pretty good movie. If you can get past the vulgar language, the crazy extremes and outrageous behaviour, you'll be happy you watched this movie.
R.I.P John Ritter & Bernie Mac, it was great to see their work, they were all hilarious and played their parts nicely in this flick. So, so wrong... but so, so funny. - p10-
If you're a scrooge at heart, you have to see this film.
Crude, cutting dialogue. The relationships between Billy Bob's shallow, sinister Santa character and the rest of the cast are ripe with greed, perversity, and contempt. Everything that Xmas isn't! Hurray!
It has just enough redemable qualities to make the debauchery and depravity well worth it.
Easily on my top ten funniest films of all time.
