That is, until an odd assortment of customers-everyone from a couple of clowns, to a stripper, to three priests bound for Africa-come walking through his door. Though complete strangers to one another, they soon find that their paths have crossed for a reason. In the crazy evening that ensues, much will happen, and their lives will be changed forever.

13 Moons is a lot of fun. It's one of those movies with diverse characters who end up colliding in a meaningful way at the end. Sad clowns, priests in the red light district, pet lions - what more could you ask for? There is some wonderful acting which overcomes a bit of plot weakness.Bad and Good Simultaneously - Nik-
There's a lot wrong with this movie, and a lot right. Which makes for a very odd experience.
The script has enormous, ridiculous, painful, silly holes in it, like a comical swiss cheese wearing a party hat, trying to pass itself off as goudah. Character motivation is ignored. A clown that no longer believes in comedy -- interesting idea. But what does it mean? I don't know, and neither does the script writer. He never takes it anywhere.
People seem to do what's best for the story, not themselves. The story meanders everywhere and then stops. Everything is supposed to seem KUH-RAY-ZEE!!! but comes across as contrived. The ending is both predictable and stupid, while touching if you can ignore that manipulated feeling.
The camera work is odd. It's all shot on video, which makes the film quality a little goofy and rough, but this somehow makes things more endearing and believable. It's like there's an extra character in the story who happens to be holding a camera.
The acting is good, in parts, and lousy in other parts. Even the stellar actors come across as hamming it up, in some scenes. While even the terrible actors occasionally seem good.
They all live happily ever after, and I'm left wondering why the hell I liked this stupid, awful film. The ending made me groan in pain. The beginning had me intrigued and smiling.
It's a rollercoaster ride from success to failure and back again, with occasional side trips to weirdness.
