Faraway, So Close!
When an angel dares to cross the line, he stumbles into the harsh reality of post Cold War Berlin and finds him-self engaged in deadly combat to protect the mortals he loves.
The gravity-defying imagery of director Wim Wenders (Wings of Desire; Paris, Texas) gives wings to this daring film of suspense and intrigue. Otto Sander and Nastassja Kinski lead an all-star ensemble cast that includes Horst Buchholz and Willem Dafoe with cameo appearances by Peter Falk and Mikhail Gorbachev. Winner - 1993 Cannes Film Festival Grand Prize. Take flight for a spiritual film odyssey impossible to forget.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! Layer upon layer of meaning. If you don't fall in love with humanity from this movie, your heart is a stone. Acting is superb, script is a miraculous mixture of economy of words and subtext, and story line will make you think about your life, guaranteed!Near perfect movie - Gaucho
Really good follow up to "Wings of Desire".
This, in many ways, could have surpassed the original but there is a missing 20 minute piece in this film about violence and terrorism, so there is a jump in narration and leaves the more literal minded viewer stumped.
Other than that, beautiful. Acting is great, the dialogue is a lot more "Earthy" in this one that the original, and I love the setting.
Must see!
