This movie is funny and serious at the same time.
The plight of a town can truly rest upon one single event and this movie describes it while injecting subtle humour at the same time.
At times, somewhat campy or cheesy, but in the end a good family movie that everyone can enjoy.Canadian film-making in the quirky British tradition - HaroStrait
Don't let the sub-titles put you off. This is a film of wonderful characters played with depth of feeling - you get that they actually like and care for one another. The plot is hilarious and perfectly executed. And - I will never look at cricket the same way again.Tres Bon! - ceiliqueen
As an anglophone with limited French I likely wouldn't have rented this movie if I knew it was a french movie with subtitled English dialogue. But I am SO glad that I did. What a wonderfully pleasant movie. Humor, poignancy, a little element of the ole "HEIST" genre. Good acting, great scenery. 4 stars for sure.
