Club Dread
Broken Lizard is back...and this time the crazy comedy troupe that brought you Super Troopers is taking you on a trip so outrageously fun...it's murder. Welcome to Coconut Pete's Pleasure Island, a tropical, tequila-soaked vacation resort where high-spirited fun soon takes a deadly turn-leaving the island's hilariously inept staff to battle a machete-wielding maniac as they fight to survive another day in paradise.
Filled with sidesplitting humor, scary slasher scenes, and plenty of bikini-clad babes, Broken Lizard's Club Dread is a comedy to die for!

Not Funny, Not Scary, Not Nudity - Jugger
This movie fails to deliver on anything the cover and the title might imply. You would think if it lacks plot and acting it might be offset by thrills, gore, violence, nudity or laughs. In this case you would think wrong. Viewers are sucked in by a movie so horrible that you only watch it like a rubbernecker viewing a traffic accident. The entire movie is a wait for a punch-line that never comes. There is a reason that this is quite possibly the only movie at Zip.ca that has a full availability bar.Not what you think - FilmMonkey
The DVD cover, the description, all point to a "scary movie" type spoof but you spend the entire movie waiting for the laughs that never come. Sure there are amusing moments, but then the grusome parts are played with such earnestness that the entire film just feels half baked - neither flat out horrific or gross out funny.
There are some likeable characters here, and Brittany Daniel does a credible job as the lead, but she alone is not enough to carry the movie.
The payoff at the end (where you find out who dunnit) is of the worse kind. You are never given clues to have a chance of guessing it, and even after the reveal you can't understand why the killer did it.
Bottomline, not a complete waste of time, but definitely not something you want to pay money to see.Ok its not art, but its funny! +GREAT commentary - Paf-
Ok so this isn't exactly the best movie out there, but it has many funny scenes not to mention "Putman" (Played by Jay Chandrasekhar who is also directing) will give you quotes to laugh about for days.
One of the greatest features of this DVD however is the 2 commentary tracks by broken lizard members, as these guys wrote, directed and acted, the insight into the movie is great! not to mention that the commentary is as funny as the movie. For example, they gave Jay Chandrasekhar "putman" a funny british accent just so jay would have to revert to a normal accent to direct as he was in a bad mood while directing their previous movie (Super Troopers).
Despite bad reviews, give this movie a chance, besides Brittany Daniel (Jenny) isn't bad to look at!
