Napoleon and Samantha
The adventure begins when 11-year-old Napoleon (Johnny Whitaker), who lives with his grandfather, takes in a former circus lion named Major as his pet. Soon after, his grandfather dies, and Napoleon will try anything to avoid being sent to an orphanage. So he sets off with his new pet on the adventure of a lifetime to reach the mountain retreat of Danny (Michael Douglas), a good-hearted man who has befriended the young boy. Jodie Foster makes her film debut as Samantha, Napoleon and Major’s faithful companion who joins them on their trip across the American northwest mountains.
Along their journey, the little band of adventurers must find the courage to face the dangers of the wilderness. In doing so, they learn the valuable lesson that they can not run away from their responsibilities.

Pretty Good - skichick
As reviewed by my eight year old daughter: it was pretty good - I like the part when Danny said that Mark was sick and had to go back to the hospital but I don't know why. I think it wasn't as good as the Shaggy D.A. I liked the lion a lot!
And now mom speaks - the Mark character was way creepy. the tone of the whole movie is creepy to be honest, but my kids didn't really get the nuance of creepiness.
