The Dinner Game (Le diner de cons)
From the creator of La cage aux folles comes a tasty comedy of (table) manners. Pierre and his snobbish friends enjoy a cruel tradition, hosting dinner parties and seeing who can bring dullest, most idiotic guest. Pierre is confident he has found a real champion in Francois, an accountant whose favorite hobby is making matchstick models of famous tourist attractions. But the tables turn when Pierre gets stuck in his apartment for the weekend with Francois, and is forced to dine on his just desserts.

The Dinner Game - salita
One of the worst movies i have ever endured.
The limited number of characters and budget constraints should have little negative impact on a piece, unless the story line is shallow and supported by banal unimaginative dialogue. Attempts by any talented cast could not save this movie from plunging to cineomatic hari kari. The unfortunate marriage of forces - mostly boorish and unimaginative dialogue - produced a painfully mind-numbing, vacuous experience. Insulting experience for anyone with an IQ above 70.Délicieux! - Shox
- Lynx
A very well written, fast paced and laugh out loud French comedy with great acting. The premise and setting for the movie is simple but the events that unfold are hilarious. However it is the acting in this movie that also really makes it shine, especially Villeret who is amazing in his role as Pignon.
This movie is being remade in the US , currently titled 'Dinner for Smucks' and is scheduled to
be released July 2010. Francis Veber, the writer and director of the Le dîner de cons is also writing the remake. I would also highly recommend other movies he has written and directed, including La doublure (the Valet)
and Le placard (the Closet).
