Kids In The Hall: Brain Candy
The Kids in the Hall, Canada's celebrated sketch comedy troupe, make their feature film debut playing more than 40 roles between them in this slapstick tale of a deranged scientist in the employ of Roritor Pharmaceuticals who develops Gleemonex, a pill designed to make the taker happy all the time. As the pill begins to cut across every social and economic boundary, virtually eliminating depression, it is discovered that Gleemonex has a very serious side effect: it may put its users into a coma. BRAIN CANDY uses this story as a loose springboard to allow the Kids to indulge in their trademark mayhem, with each member diving into both male and female roles with equal aplomb.

Dull movie with a fewlaughs but hey my friend is in it - 2eblue
The only reason I rented this was to see my friend. I saw him for the whole 2 minute scene he was in. Worth a rental to see a friend.
On the whole - this was a dull movie. Kids in The Hall for half an hour - GREAT! Kids in the Hall gang for an entire movie - not so great. Now don't get me wrong - there were flashes of brilliance in this otherwise dull movie. It just should have been ahalf hour to one hour skit, and not a ful length feature film.
Good to see the Kids again - but I think I saw too much of them.Pretty good. - Wentai
This film deserved a better reaction. My first impression on seeing it in the theater was "This is a very unusual show." The movie was different from their tv show but still great. They wrote a funny script and populated it with crazy characters, some of which were seen in their old TV show.
I like this movie and can't see why others don't.
At any rate, the movie is still good and the character funny. I loved most of the old TV show and the same irreverent humor is here.Sometimes hilarious but mostly boring - Port_Moresby
Those crazy Canuck comedians have been given the SNL treatment by Lorne Michaels, developing their hilarious television skits into an overlong, sometimes funny but often tiring waste of celluloid. The story ventures in many places and has the cast members portraying various characters, but mostly it centres around a pharmaceutical company that creates a drug that cures depression, then rushes it out into the market without proper testing because the company’s financial situation demands profits as soon as possible. Trouble is, some users end up in comas. There are quite a few moments that induce genuine laughs (favourites being the closeted father whose army experience is a full-on gay porn fantasy and Bruce McCulloch’s Cancer Boy routine) but for the most part it’s bloated and less fun than watching the show.
