The Prince & Me
Finding your inner princess can be such a royal pain.
Paige (Julia Stiles) has her future all mapped out. A fastidious pre-med student at the University of Wisconsin, she's vowed nothing will deter her from becoming a doctor, until she meets Edward (Luke Mably), the dashing playboy Crown Prince of Denmark who's trying to escape a life he never chose. He's enrolled incognito at Paige's school to "find himself" and to take a detour from his destiny as king.
Paige and "Eddie" end up as lab partners and discover there's more chemistry between them than just the classroom variety. Will he step away from his place in the Danish monarchy to be with her? Will she lose sight of her dream to become a doctor?

This movie is basically a modern Cinderella! It is basically every little girls dream that a prince will come and sweep her off her feet put into a movie. That may be why it was so popular among ladies. It is a heartwarming tale of the maturation of a prince once he finds the love of his life!A light movie - dea89
This movie was exactly what I expected: a typical commoner meets royalty "love" story. Boy is secretly royalty, girl is a pain in the butt, somehow they fall in love, she's shocked when she finds out, they have a problem, and poof, everything ends happily ever after. Typical, typical, typical.
it was ok to watch once, and the kids will probably like it (especially girls dreaming of becoming a princess), but it's not something adults will likely treasure.A piece of American clichees in love with european royality - Moosette
This movie was made long time before prince frederik met the australian Mary.
When I found it in the video store back then, I rented it curious how the Americans saw the Danish crown prince and Denmark. I knew the Danish crown prince had been to USA for studies before, and maybe they knew something about him that the Danish people did not know yet.
But I must admit I was both disgusted and disapointed of this movie.
First of all, the way it depict Denmark is so full of clichés I can hardly believe they ever went there. Then, the portrait of the queen as a witch and the prince who cannot resist this American girl is completely awkward.
Other Danes who has spent their time on this movie are also terrified how it depicts Denmark as a fairy tale wonder land, where a REAL prince , OMG, is walking around...Gosh, let me tell you nobody wants this prince, ?cause he's been sleeping with half of the Danish girls (2,5 millions) before he met Mary. So, believe me, those who wanted him, had their chance...
Anyway dont waste your time with this movie. It is not even close to the truth. They should not have made it the prince of Denmark , just any prince.
If it inspires you to go to Denmark to snatch the Prince Frederic, he is already busy with two kids and a wife now. But do come anyway, the guys are really nice!!!!! And the girls too. And we love biking and ice cream in all weather..
