Hell In The Pacific
Two Wartime Enemies With One Chance For Survival...Each Other.
Lee Marvin and Toshiro Mifune star in this "gripping, well-executed" (Leonard Maltin) WW II film about two enemies on a deserted island who must rely on one another to survive.

Good Movie, Poor Title - MovieLover5
I enjoyed this movie despite its title. The 2 actors are the only people in it, with Lee Marvin speaking only English when he speaks at all, and Toshiro Mifune likewise speaking only Japanese. This was an excellent approach as it makes the entire premise of the two WW2 soldiers' encounter with each other more realistic. The story of their gradual trusting of the other, despite their countries being at war, is touching in its humanity, but ruined by a terrible ending. (The alternate ending makes more sense, and why that was not used in the theatrical release is a mystery.) All in all though, a good movie with top rate cinematography.
