In spite of Ms Bullock, who tries to make it work as she always does, we just could not finish watching this movie...it had the makings of a great story - good subject matter that never gets tired, but somehow it just did not really "get it together". As far as we are concerned, it was a waste of a rental.Low-Budget - CynCanada
With a bit more care, this could have been a really good film. Sandra Bullock did a reasonably well job considering she had not yet struck the "big time." She shows promise in this film, anyway, which is probably what landed her the break-out role in Speed. I think if the producers had a little more foresight, they would have spent more in cinematography and scripts to make this an enjoyable and memorable movie. As it stands, the spendthrift attitude shows through stronger than the movie. Not Much Fire Here - T-Bar
With its exotic locales and peoples this film ,with some budget and script could have been worth watching. As it is we see a grainy low-budget attempt to send an environmental message.
Bullock is ok and there is some interest in the scenario but it just doesn't add up to much.
Give it a miss.
