Bastard out of Carolina
"Marvelous Cast...Unforgettably Affecting." - USA Today

Anney Boatwright (Jennifer Jason Leigh), young and single, gives birth to a daughter -- an illegitimate child -- nicknamed "Bone" because her Uncle Earl (Michael Rooker) says, "She ain't no bigger than a knucklebone." Although she grows up poor in 1950s South Carolina, Bone (Jena Malone) and her mother enjoy a deep and loving relationship; however, Daddy Glen (Ron Eldard), Anney's new husband, becomes jealous of the powerful bond they share.

Based on the best-selling novel by Dorothy Allison and featuring an outstanding ensemble cast that includes Lyle Lovett, Glenne Headly, Dermot Mulroney, Christina Ricci, and a narration by Laura Dern, Bastard Out Of Carolina is a powerful and moving story of one woman's passionate resolve to keep her family together.
