Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things
You're Invited To Orville's "Coming-Out" Party...It'll Be A Scream...Yours!
The Set-Up:
Five young kinky actors and their artistic director come to a desolate and nearly forgotten burial island, complete with a morbid history of Murder, Rape, Curses and Demons. Alan, the brilliant but bizarre Director of the company, has brought them to this foreboding place to dabble in witchcraft; specifically to dig up a fresh corpse and use it in a ritual ceremony which is supposed to raise the dead from their graves.
The Pay-Off:
It seems as though Alan has really gathered his "children" here, only to play a practical joke on them and then to party the rest of the night away. However, the joke's on Alan. His bizarre ritual ceremony really does raise the dead from their graves...only they're in no mood to party.

Shame on me for claiming to be a hardcore horror fan and only viewing this recently. I'd say it's staple viewing at least once for any fan of the genre. Especially one who digs Zombies. Good times.
USELESS FACTS:
Director Bob Clark (III) was planning to do a remake of "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things" in 2007. Tragically though, Clark died in an automobile accident before production plans could get underway.

In which the dead rise from their graves very, very slowly. For a while, the absence of supernatural activity builds tension, but hack director Bob Clark waits way too long to release it. The result is fifteen minutes' worth of exposition stretched out to an hour. Leaving one plenty of time to marvel at the jokes (all bad), the amateurish direction, and the bad acting (Alan Ormsby is insufferable). Yet, all that being said, there are some genuinely creepy moments. The weird score helps.Listen to your Uncle Al! - LePants
I saw this movie when I was a kid, and forever blazoned in my mind was an image of a scary zombie with a mouthful of intestine. Finally, here it is again, in all its low-budge splendour. Though not as scary as when I was eight, there is still a charming unpolished creepiness to the experience, and a few unexpected moments - which are hard to come by with teens-in-the-woods zombie movies. Worth it for those who are collecting zombie-flick experiences.
