This is a really old movie - made when films would knock you down with morals and over-actinge. However, this one really holds up.
This dog will melt even the coldest heart - what he goes thru to get home. It's well filmed so it all seems real.
I liked it.A Heart- Warming Story - moviegenius
This is the kind of movie that people who like dogs, they'll want to watch this film. It was still good, but it could have been better when someone would've watched it with me. First I asked my dad (who hates Roddy McDowall) , but he obvioussly didn't say yes. All I'm saying is, this is a cute, adventorous film. SO WATCH IT!!!!Original Film Version Of Lassie Still The Best - bwod
In this original film based on the novel, "LASSIE:Come Home", made in 1943, Rudd Weatherwax, the trainer of Lassie, really is the star, although he never appears on-screen.
Sure, the story is well-written, the human actors do their jobs well, and the scenery is beautiful. But it is the well-trained dog that runs away with the show.
I highly recommend "Lassie..." for family viewing.Children will love it, as will most adults, especially dog-lovers. My wife and I both enjoyed it immensley, being the owners of two German Shepherds. Two thumbs up.
