If teenaged Ethan and his younger sister Hallie put every toy in Macy's department store on their Christmas list, it still wouldn't include what they want most. They want a miracle - they want their divorced parents back together.
With lots of humor, heart and yuletide sparkle, All I Want For Christmas is all you could want in a family film treat. Ethan Randall (Dutch) and Thora Birch (Patriot Games) play siblings who come up with a hilarious plan to reunite their parents (Harley Jane Kozak and Jamey Sheridan). Movie legend Lauren Bacall plays the sympathetic grandmother who assists the kids. And Leslie Nielsen (The Naked Gun films) appears as Santa Claus. So what is the plan? Ho-ho-ho! Aren't you in for a surprise!

Good Christmas movie for the family - Fudgeflaps
This makes a good Christmas movie for the family, but not much more.
Two kids, Ethan and Hallie, are trying to get their parents back together around Christmas, but there are several snags they have to deal with, including their soon-to-be stepfather who doesn't seem to like children.
The story is rather plodding and dull, and Ethan Randall is a terrible actor, at least in this movie (I haven't seen him in anything else). Thora Birch is the movie's only real bright spot, except maybe for her pet mouse Snowball.Well on its way to becoming a Christmas Classic. - Vans2000
If your guilty pleasures are "feel good movies" and "christmas movies" then this is one to add to your ziplist. Although I would not recommend watching this film more than once a year, I do recommend watching it during the holidays with family. If I had a choice between this movie and the "fireplace video" that they run on t.v. during the holidays, then I would definitely choose this movie.Been There, Seen That......but..... - DocVW

What makes this movie a little more than the usual, following of this type of plot is that the children both work separetly together. They both want the same thing, but go about it slightly differently, but work together as well. It's a real warm, fuzzy feeling movie indeed that the whole family could and should see. I'd give it 3 and 1/2 stars out of 5. It could have been a 4 with just a little more creativity on an already overdone plot. It was just nice to see a good movie.
