Born To Win
Desperate People, Living On The Edge...
Smart-mouthed junkie J.J. (George Segal) thinks he's got the world by the tail. But he spends most days looking for just one more fix. Can he hold onto his girlfriend and turn his life around? Doesn't look good...
This powerful, gritty drama won significant critical acclaim when it came out in 1971, featuring great performances from a fine cast, including stars Segal, Karen Black and a young, dynamic Robert De Niro.
Often compared to Midnight Cowboy, this penetrating look at desperate people living on the edge (and the lies they tell themselves) is not to be missed. A must for film buffs, this eagerly anticipated DVD release is the very best in gripping, intense drama and is sure to become a special favorite in your collection.

Where's Robert? - CaptainRhodes
Decent flick but don't rent it if your looking for a De Niro fix. His screen time is maybe five minutes. Not a bad flick though. Quality is junk but tolerable.
USELESS FACTS:
According to director Ivan Passer, Robert De Niro was nearly fired many times throughout shooting. A devoted Stella Adler student, he would do things to exceptionally define his secondary character that would draw attention away from the leads.
