Day of the Dead
The Darkest Day Of Horror The World Has Ever Known
The "walking dead" have taken over the world. Only a small band of scientists and soldiers are definitely known to remain, and they have taken refuge in an underground missile silo. The only hope for survival of the human race hinges on discovering a way to either control the walking dead or get them back into their graves for good.

THE BEST!!! - Zuggernaught
This is the best zombie film produced of all time. Dawn of the dead was great, Night of the living dead is classic for all the right reasons, but the third installment is bleak, claustrophobic, smart, and ruthless. Yah, some of the acting is over the top, but to me it adds to the charm. DR. Logan and Bub steal the show, but all the characters have a roll to play and fill their respective shoes well, very well. To try and convince somebody who is not into the horror genre that this film is remarkable, might be besides the point, if you love zombies, gore, and horror in general than you have already seen this film, if your on the outside looking in, please come in............Reaganism / Reganomics ?? - Trugoy
As it's been written before, all of the Dead series represent a period of time. Night Of the Living Dead, set in the 60's, show humanity, man helping man as well as showing the race barriers being broken. Dawn, shot in the 70's, show man being materialistic. Set in a mall it represents consumerism at its finest. Then we get to the Day of the Dead, as another reviewer mentioned, the least liked film it seems of the series. Reaganomics/Reganism......science vs. military / socialism vs military. What's more important, spending time to come to some sort of soulution, or just kill kill kill ??? I'd like to say that this movie represents only the 80's, but sadly, it still applies today. I think this is why I enjoyed this series, and this movie inparticular. Yes, they are Zombie movies, but the zombies are a just a backdrop in the story. Watch this movie with an open mind, the message in this is far more terrifing than the zombies themselves.A True Masterpiece - Zombie-a-go-go
Often considered the least popular of George Romero's Dead Trilogy (soon to be quadtrilogy), Day of the Dead is one of the most underrated zombie films of all time. This film has got all the bases covered – a great cast of relatively unknown actors, continuity with the previous two films and best all of, some amazing zombie effects and make-up from the master Tom Savini.
Occurring some time after the events of Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Day tells the story of what could be the last remaining humans on earth and there constant struggle to not only survive the dead's ever-present threat, but also to survive themselves. Characters include a group of scientists, a pilot, a communications expert and small number military personnel. Early on in the film the tension begins to build between the scientists and the military personnel when one side wants to attempt to domesticate the zombies, while the other simple wants a better way to destroy them. This tension is the focal point of the movie and leads to a gory and zombie filled conclusion sure to quench any zombie lovers thirst.
The original script called for a much more elaborate film, but budget constraints prevented Romero from created the film he truly wanted to make. But don't let that little fact deter you from checking out this zombie masterpiece. Day of the Dead doesn't just follow in the footsteps of it's predecessors, it leaps pass them. This movie is a must have for any zombie fan. I give this film a solid 10 out of 10.
