Caretaker of the Strip - THeide
The old takes of famous people were incredible, but the focus of this documentary made me feel like I had drunkenly fornicated with an old basset hound. I spent the following days thinking about the pathetic and lowly existence that our "Mayor" passed off as a life, and the brunt of fame's fortunes came at me like a bad hairdo that a creepy old man wears when he's in his late 50's but thinks he's still Mick Jagger. Used and abused and he's still loving it after so many years.Mayor's World - Pashmina
An interesting look into a world few of us really know. This documentary gives you a great education on the early days of rock in L.A. along with some great clips of that time. Rodney is everywhere. Sad to see someone who is close to so much wealth live the way that he does. Too much drug use perhaps?Not your typical biography - gonyou
A good documentary will enlighten you to a particular subject, in this case a biography of Rodney as well as the influence he has had on the alternative music scene. That alone would have been interesting enough for a guy like me.
What a really good documentary does though is not only illuminate it's given subject but also comments on a larger issue, in this case maybe even the human condition. I really think it's that big!
The sick drive we have in one degree or another to be acknowledged or famous or even bask in the glow of other famous people is so wonderfully addressed here, I think this movie should be seen by all of Hollywood, and North America for that matter.
