Mayor Of The Sunset Strip
From the Monkees to Van Halen to No Doubt to Coldplay and beyond, Rodney Bingenheimer, a.k.a. “Rodney on the ROQ,” has been a cherished "Zelig-like" figure in the pop music world for over 2 decades. Motivated by his passion for music and the allure of celebrity, Rodney first hit Hollywood's infamous Sunset Strip as a teenager during its psychedelic 1960’s heyday. As a scenester who hung out with the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Beach Boys and Elvis, Rodney eventually became a journalist, promoter, club owner and ultimately world-famous pop impresario. Deemed “Mayor of the Sunset Strip,” Bingenheimer was the man who always had the ultimate back-stage pass. This thrilling, emotional and unusually touching story takes us through Bingenheimer's life as he begins spinning records on Los Angeles’ cutting-edge radio station KROQ where he eventually becomes one of the country’s most unusual and highly respected DJs.

Not your typical biography - gonyou
A good documentary will enlighten you to a particular subject, in this case a biography of Rodney as well as the influence he has had on the alternative music scene. That alone would have been interesting enough for a guy like me.
What a really good documentary ...
