Dirty Deeds
The Mob's Gone Down Under.
In this town, you play by Barry's rules, or you don't play at all. Tony and Sal don't want to play by Barry's rules and have come to town to buy him out. With this many players, there can be only one winner, and Barry's not giving up without a fight.
Bryan Brown (Two Hands), Toni Collette (The Sixth Sense), John Goodman (O Brother, Where Art Thou?) and Sam Neill (Jurassic Park III) star.

Down Underworld - McGuffin
Quirky little movie set in 60's Australia. Sydney slot machine kingpin Barry lives a regular domestic life with brassy wife Sharon - when he isn't getting rid of rivals nastily. An aging Mafioso and his young psycho "minder" are sent from the U.S. ostensibly to promote a new, improved, electronic slot - but really to set up a takeover. A corrupt local detective, a naive nephew, and a nubile young mistress thicken the plot. The mix of comedy and violence jars sometimes, but the Swinging Sixties scene, the stark red outback, and solid performances from Aussie/international pros Bryan Brown as smooth Barry, Toni Collette as his tough-minded wife, and Sam Neill as the cynical cop - backed up by a bloated John Goodman as the hood on his last chance - make it all worthwhile. English sub-titles are helpfully supplied in case the Australian accent (known as "Strine") proves too challenging...Ouffff... - mxg123
This movie was so boring in the beginning that I could not even finish it off, so please excuse this critic should the movie gets better towards its end. The smashing of casino machines was not impressive, and made no sense, and what were all those weird characters being shown. Anyways be forewarned before getting this movie. Makers of movies like this should get some pointers from Bollywood films, which always impress me, in their sets, actors, and story lines.Fun old gangster movie - croc
This is a fun gangster movie set in 1969 Australia. The performances from all of the stars (particularly from Bryan Brown and Toni Collette) are great, the costumes are sometimes hilarious (particularly those worn by Darcy).
The movie is primarily focused on the storyline, which is a good thing and it's populated with interesting supporting characters. Sam Worthington is great as Brown's nephew, Darcy, a young man who returns from fighting in Vietnam and wants to become a pizza maker.
If you like gangster movies (similar to Lock, Stock), then give this one a try.
