Long but great - LilyandMick
This movie was long long movie, but it was great acting and little romance that brings patient and nurse together. It has sad and fun part and go through up and down feeling, but it was great to watch and I can't miss!!! This was already good story from the book and movie made it even better to show how the feelings between the love can create.pretty and uninvolving - clauditorium
Tale of romantic tragedy features attractive cinematography but remains uninvolving due to impenetrable characters, and because of its self-conscious ambition to be perceived as an old-fashioned epic, which prevents it from achieving the emotional involvement it aims for. At its best during romantic or erotic scenes. The English Patient - RogerDaniels
Anthony Minghella’s WWII romantic epic is a beautiful, provocative film. It plods along slowly and deliberately, allowing us soak up every beautiful sun-soaked image, every repressive, nuanced performance and every wistful gaze. It successfully manages to be artistic without being pretentious, never allowing itself empty scenes. Some complain that this film is too boring, too slow but these opponents betray a lack of appreciation for the epics of David Lean, films that are enormous in every respect. Minghella obviously respected Lean highly, and allows the film its natural length, echoing most notably "Lawrence of Arabia" with its peculiar male lead and adoration for the desert. "The English Patient" is a powerful film, one that needs its three-hour running time to fully work its magic upon you.
