This movie reminds me in part of volcano. It has everything action adventure and of course the destruction on a grand scale what more would you want? This isn't the typical movie with the love story and all that junk that I don't want to see in a destruction movie. But all in all a good movie.ALMOST AN 11...IN THE BAD SCALE - Ricardo
There is always the consolation that this was a made-for-TV movie. The acting was at best mediocre, the special effects just okay, and the script interesting but not enough to last as long as it did. I am sorry for the people who actually watched this in episodes. I've seen the sequel "10.5 Apocalypse" and although that one is certainly not a masterpiece, it was definitely better than this oneBeau Bridges sure helps - Shahana
This movie is difficult to critique. There are so many illogical happenings that take it out of anything believable - but do lighten-up a story that could be too frightening for some. For example - how can an 8.3 quake hit Redding and not cause a shudder in LA, roads in perfect shape with no traffic in the middle of evacuation if 'our heroes' need to use them. Cell phones working even though all possible towers are destroyed. And yet something made us continue on watching and looking forward to the sequel. Beau does a great job as president, and although we are Canadian, he can evoke the "rally round the flag boys" emotion so well.
