I think this film is mostly overlooked because of its lack of stars, but it's a solid film that is more of a "mental" kind of horror. I was surprised to see that it has an R rating as it seems pretty tame by a lot of PG13 standards - there's one sex scene, the results of two murder scenes - but it's not depicted in a gratuitous way.
It was great to see Peter Weller as a young man - he plays a man on the run who kills a woman's abusive and evil husband. The horror part comes in when one realizes that this woman lives on an island most of the week while her husband and children are in town, and that she is being kept there so the husband, Pink, can do as he pleases.
The wife, Maggie, must decide whether she believes Baston's story about why he murdered her husband.
The print of this film that we watched was not from Zip, but it was unfortunately of poor and lossy quality...the use of music, metaphors and the wild scenery of the island Maggie lives on are used to great effect.
