Everything a family film should be. A great family romp with a big lovable dog you are grateful lives in someone else’s home. A disaster of a dog for a family who needs exactly that. The kids are great and the dog even better. Watching it again I was surprised how many of the secondary actors I knew and enjoyed it all the more for that reason.one dog lover to another - poulters
I loved this movie as it was close to home. Getting a person who hasn't had a dog before and watching the two trying to get along. As the dog grows and gets bigger than you thought it would. Dog hair all over, missing food and those accidents here and there. In this movie all that combine with the action of bad guy and guys. Makes fror a great family movie. And a funny movie too.roll over Beethoven - movie_goer
Don't watch the squels especially Beethovens 5th.
This is the orginal movie, when he was still a cute puppy, finding refugee in a home the childern wake-up thinking Beethovens a present from the parents. The father who's not keen on animals wants The dog OUT! In time beethoven gets bigger and bigger almost horse size. Aside from turning a household upside down, Beethoven charms us with unconditional love.
