Black Sheep
Chris Farley and David Spade reunite in this hilarious comedy. When dignified Albert Donnelly (Tim Matheson) runs for the Senate, his team quickly moves to keep his slow-witted and klutzy younger brother, Mike (Farley), out of the eye of the media. To baby-sit Mike, the campaign assigns sarcastic Steve (Spade), who gets the experience of a lifetime when he tries to take Chris out of town during the election.

I am a huge Chris Farley fan. Sometimes he appears in comedy which you find halarious --- and other people just don't get (eg. Saturday Night Live, Tommy Boy). This time, unfortunately, he is in a plain bad movie -- and while the gags are tried -- it's just not funny.
Farley was a person who was so likeable -- and he could make me laugh by just looking at his face. I was a huge, "Tommy Boy" fan ... and watched the movie many times. I went to the theatre to see, "Black Sheep" expecting the kind of comedy that brought tears to my eyes. I tried to force the laughter.
I can completely overlook a bad script ... but so few laughs from a Farley movie? What gives? Director, Penelope Spheeris was hot off the heals of the "Waynes World" movies --- who knew this would be the beginning of a downward spiral of bad comedy efforts.
If you are a Farley or Spade fan, you might need to see, "Black Sheep" --- but don't expect much --because it is BAAAAAAAA D.

PS - I would have given this movie one star, but that would not give Farley's, "Beverly Hills Ninja" an appropriate rating ... since it is even worse than this movie!I miss Chris Farley. - D2--
This movie maybe be goofy and low brow, but I found it to be outstandingly funny at the same time. Farley is great as the bumbling, overzealous, but well meaning brother of a man running for Senate. David Spade's character is assigned to Farley to keep his antics out of the public eye, while making him think he's still contributing to the campaign. While the leads are great, it's Gary Busey's character that steals the show as the over the top psycho Drake Sabitch.
The video quality of this one is very good and it comes with an underutilised 5.1 soundtrack.
A solid 3 stars.
