Sliding Doors
Two universes unfold in Sliding Doors, a romantic fantasy about alternate possibilities. Londoner Gwyneth Paltrow is shown in two scenarios, each propelled by the same incident. In the first scenario, she squeezes through the subway train's doors on time and catches her boyfriend fooling around. In the second version, she's stuck on the train and returns to her flat, none the wiser.

I really enjoy movies with this directing style.
I enjoy seeing people's situations where the characters must choose (and their choices are played out in the movie)...what if???
what if, and they get to see what would have happened.
Fascinating because we go through this every day in our lives, only we cannot see what happens if we chose something else. So out of a human interest standpoint, i think it is a fascinating movie in the way its shot.
Another great example of this style is in the film "Run Lola Run".
I think both films are worth seeing just to see *what would happen if...* everyone asks this all the time. "what would happen if i dated this person and was still with them, what would my life be like".....cool way to direct a film! if anyone can recommend films like this to me, please let me know.what if - Zippa
If you have ever wondered: what if.... what if you'd done something different, how would things have turned out, this movie is for you.
It shows the way someone's life can change completely based on a single event. In this case, it is the sliding doors of a tube train that decides fate.
Luckily we get to see how events unfold for the girl who held the doors and caught the train as well as if she miss it. A brilliant rom-com that leaves you wondering about your destiny.
Oh and its got a good soundtrack too!Great concept, good story - thenewguy
Sliding doors is a sort of alternative-life fantasy in which Helen (played by Paltrow) is fired from her job and is one her way home when she misses her train. Or, perhaps catches her train. Reality splits and we follow Helen in two realities. In one she catches the train and returns home in good order and kicks off a new chapter in her life. In the other, she has missed the train and arrived home late, continuing on the path her life was originally on.
The film is beautifully well done and balances itself between Helen's realities very well. The film shows how small things can result in big changes.
The cast in this movie is very good, the dialogue is fun and the characters, while a bit simple, fill their roles well.
This movie will probably appeal a lot more to female audiences than male viewers, much of the film is female-centric. The movie additionally has a strong sound track and a well-executed finish.
