100 Years of Horror
From Frankenstein to Freddie Kruger, Hollywood's horror genre is honored in this documentary hosted by veteran spook star Christopher Lee. The film encapsulates the history of the genre, from the silent era and the first use of special effects to the gratuitously graphic slasher era of the 1970s and 1980s. Includes clips of old-school actors Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi, plus interviews with directors such as Roger Corman and John Carpenter.

An ok look at the Horror film, nothing really new to a fan like myself..seen way too many movies. Some of the outtakes were fun with Narration by Christopher Lee: including Mummy stories and Abbott
and Costello bloopers. It touched on Hammer films naturally, universal monsters and the slasher film too. Good for Horror newbies.100 years - subhashm

Ok, so this isn't the slickest and most focused horror documentary I've ever seen, but it's definitely not bad. The film takes some interesting stances on a lot of the subject matter, which is categorized fairly well. The choice of films was also a good canonization of horror: Everything from Repulsion to Blood Feast. I'd recomend it for those who are interested in tracing horror concepts like Frankenstein's Monster and the Wolf-man through cinematic history.
