Live Wire
R-Rated and Unrated Versions
Pierce Brosnan (as James Bond in Die Another Day) is riveting in this explosive political action-thriller.
Brosnan is Danny O'Neil, the FBI's ace bomb expert and "live wire". His wife is flaunting her affair with a senator (Ron Silver, Ali), the very man he's been assigned to protect against terrorist attacks. But his biggest enemy is the one he can't see. It's a lethal new bomb disguised as water. Held by a psychopathic terrorist (Bend Cross, Turbulence), it's the most undetectable and deadly weapon known to man. In the tense final minutes, O'Neil decides the fate of his wife, her lover and the entire city of Washington, D.C.

Good action flick with ex-bond Brosnan - XTRUClerk
On his way to becoming James Bond, Pierce Brosnan made a string of stinkers. There was Nomads, a beautiful but incomprehensible film, Time Bomb (I think that was the title) which was just boring, and several others that were so forgettable that I have.... Well, forgotten them! Live wire is an exception to the list (as well as Murder 101, which was another decent film). The plot here could be from a bond film, people are turned into human bombs when they imbibe a certainly odourless, tasteless chemical and Pierce has the sorry job of stopping the fiend. There are a few really good action sequences here and Pierce is solid. In fact, that's the one thing you can count on in any of his movies, as bad as they get he is always good. Now that the Bond series seems to be over for him, maybe he can go back to making these types of bad movies, or, maybe, he'll actually be in something good again... Oh yes, there was Lawnmower Man, that was another pretty good one, though it has aged poorly as most movies with “cutting edge technology” for the time seem to (see War Games and Cloak and Dagger for two other really good movies that are almost laughable because of the computers of the age). Cheers.
