Our Town
Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize-winning play covers the lives and events of two families in a woodsy New Hampshire village from the year 1900 through 1913. In this film adaptation, William Holden and Martha Scott reprise their roles from the Broadway production, playing teenagers who fall in love, marry and bear a child. Throughout, the film hammers home its message about the preciousness of time in people's short lives.

Horrible Transfer, beware of this dvd. - Dvd007
The company that put this dvd out spent move money on the artwork of the outer box and disc then the dvd itself. If you found an old vhs in the attic it would probably be better quality than this pile of junk. Wait until another release and be proud you did not waste a slot in your zip list for this horrid, sloppy transfer.Great play, great film, but... - nxnw
This is the worst DVD transfer ever. It ruins the movie. The movie is in the public domain and I had figured this DVD was merely produced from the copy on Archive.org, but the audio on that copy (available for legal download http://www.archive.org/details/Our_Town) is better than this DVD.
The audio on this DVD is incomprehensible and the video is washed out. Like watching a 16 mm film in bad condition - no, that would be better than this DVD. Having a copy of the play on hand may help, although the screenplay diverges from it, particularly in the third act. Subtitles would have helped, but this fourth rate hack has none.
STAY AWAY!
