This program mixes ground-breaking computer animation with cutting-edge science to give us a sweeing view of the universe. A "cosmic zoom" extends from the surface of the Earth to the largest observable structures of the universe, and then back down into the sub-nuclear realm - a guided tour across 42 orders of magnitude! Why it is with IMAX you always get 2nd rate scripts and 2nd rate movie making? This should have been fantastic. What better medium for IMAX to flex its muscles but with the Universe itself. Sadly they follow conventions that have been used again and again in other films about the cosmos. I think you'd learn more watching BBC films on Youtube that watching this. This may have some educational value for young people that can't yet tell good from bad. It suffers from the worse sin in art: dullness.Oldie Goldie - Marilyn
I first saw a presentation that showed the universe "out there" and then "inside here" many years ago at a museum. I thought it was fascinating and very thought provoking. I thought this was going to be that version of it but this one is different yet very similar. The concept is mind blowing and very informative. A short but great viewing.Cosmic Voyage - alohabrandy
IMAX"S "Cosmic Voyage," was a nice imagery film but lacked real substance. Would have been better if it was more informative and longer with that information. Kids liked it especially for the scenery. Morgan Freeman has the perfect voice to narriate this movie. Will definantly be renting more IMAX films. Hopefully there will be more coming to DVD soon.
