The Bourne Supremacy
The Bourne Supremacy re-enters the shadowy world of expert assassin Jason Bourne (Damon), who continues to find himself plagued by the splintered nightmares from his former life. The stakes are now even higher for the agent as he coolly maneuvers through the dangerous waters of international espionage-replete with CIA plots, turncoat agents and ever-shifting covert alliances-all the while hoping to find the truth behind his haunted memories and answers to his own fragmented past.

Matt Damon is probably one of the very best current action adventure actors of our times and definately up there on the all time list. His delivery, facial movements and body language always come across as believable onscreen. He doesn't require CGI to make his movies, no matter how bland, to come alive. The film itself is predictable from beginning to end and you can pretty much guess what is going to happen next from scene to scene. If you are a Matt fan, then this is a must see. Graphic violence, sexual content and foul language make this, in my mind, a 21 year old and more rating.Surprisingly Thoughtful - Stitch
For an escapist movie tailored to mass market tastes. Yes, agreed the furious action was competently filmed and almost believable with the exception of the car chase, and any production that includes the under-appreciated Joan Allen will probably maintain my interest. A plus are the great locale shots; as a travelogue alone, it’s worth the money.
But what most impressed me was the consistent adherence to the story line from the original film—which hopefully means the third will persevere and provide completion. Because if it does, the series will endure for decades (like the Godfather and Alien films). And the Aliens' reference derives from the my suggested comparison of Matt Damon as Bourne to Sigourney Weaver as Ripley.
Both actors in their respective roles tend to underplay their characters, both portray exceptional but not ridiculous competence, and both convince us they are caring human beings. The latter is the vital factor--it give us emotional permission to suspend belief and root for them throughout all the implausibilities. How many heroes of the genre can carry this off successfully so that we are persuaded to return and watch them again and again?
Damon has been adequate to good in other roles—The Talented Mr. Ripley, All the Pretty Horses—but he has not demonstrated the range to move him into the upper echelon. Here he is precisely right, particularly in a compassionate sense. The close-to-final scene in the Moscow apartment is a small gem, a wonderful coda to the violence. We believe him.
Add to this some dynamite dialogue and an otherwise adequate supporting cast, although the Ruskie bad guys were a bit stereotypical. Brian Cox deserves special acknowledgement, again from the casting aspect. Great choice for the role, not a predictable sleaze portrayal.
Bottom line—I’m seldom tempted to this category of movie and gratified at how much I enjoyed it.One of the best sequels i have seen. - Vortxxe
This is one of those rare movies where you see the first film, and its good... but the sequel is even better.
The second installment's acting and action is much more compelling. The story moves along briskly and the acting is superb.
My only complaint is the shaky camera work, a lot of the fight scenes i couldn't even follow, and at several points had to close my eyes or look away. A little bit of shakyness can add feel, but when you cannot even focus on any one point because its all blurred out, it just detracts a lot of the power of the scene.
