The 24th Day
Tom (Scott Speedman, from TV's "Felicity") has just found out that he's HIV-positive. A married man who's been living the "straight" life, Tom had sex once, years earlier, with a man named Dan (James Marsden), and now he's on a mission to find him. His plan: kidnap Dan, take a blood sample and see if it comes back positive; if so, he'll kill him. The stage is set for a supreme battle of wills in this drama based on Tony Piccirillo's play.

"It was so sensual...sexual," my friend said. This was my second viewing, and yeah, the second time I was sure I felt that way too...but what do gay-guy critics criticize most?..."not enough nudity"..."no sex scenes"..."boring". Suggestion: download porn and stop complaining about plot and character-driven films, because there's enough porn out there to fill a space cruiser, so leave these poor artists alone. That's right, artists -- directors, actors, writers -- because porn stars are called "models" and there's a difference. I've unzipped another gay drama, and when it arrives, I'll be judging you, the lame gay-film critic, as much as I'll be judging the movie. So you better watch out: just like the hostage in this thriller, because someone is watching you, watching for signs of your superficial nature.Good movie of two guys in search of innocence.... - Alito
My review title might seem far fetched and probably is. But I want to point out that the reason I liked The 24th Day is because both characters are defending their innocence, like in a trial ... playing around with the truth, which is not always the real truth, not wanting to admit having done something wrong, maybe of grave consequences...
There is a doubt throughout the movie about the guilt of the accused kidnapped guy and an evolving revelation about the effects AIDS has had in Dan's and Scott's lives

The film also has other interesting themes like trust, being gay, education, etc.
The story is mostly told through dialogues and flashbacks. So the pace might seem at times slow but this is well suited for the film.
In the end we get a sense that both Dan and Scott are coming to terms with the Real Truth.
I'm no expert, but I agree with most, the screenplay is well written and the acting great.Thoughtful - bobby3
This movie is not exceptional, but it has a good plot, well built story and the necessary strength of the main characters to keep you interested. It takes place mostly at an apartment though it's not boring. At the middle it gets a little slow but the end is good, both calm and alarming. The acting was good, too.
Not a superb film, but worth a watch.
