The Lost Child
Oscar-winner Mercedes Ruehl gives a tremendous performance in this deep and rich drama. Adopted while very young, an adult Rebecca (Ruehl) decides to find her birth parents after her adoptive parents have passed away. Her search brings her to the Navajo nation, where Rebecca joyfully discovers her cultural ancestry and a long-lost sister -- but soon finds herself struggling to integrate her old life with the new.

Touching True Story Of A Native American Girl's Search For Her Family - bwod
This t.v. movie made for Hallmark is a sensitively told story about a young American native girl who ends up being adopted by a Jewish family, and then yearns to discover her past, including her birth family and Navajo culture.
The location shooting in Arizona is breath-taking, the acting is good, if not great, and the story is very engrossing. It brought more than a tear to both my wife's and my eyes. I highly recommend this "small" film and give it two thumbs up, for the unique narrative that will surely move you.
